Join us for a special Mass in the Basilica on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 5:15 p.m. for the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, patron of the environment, as we pray for and celebrate those individuals who work in pursuit of a just, sustainable future. Fr. John Jenkins, C.S.C., will preside. Fr. Terrence Ehrman, C.S.C., will serve as the homilist. Fr. Jenkins serves as the President of the University of Notre Dame and has led the University’s efforts to be a role model for sustainable citizenship rooted in Catholic mission. Fr. Ehrman investigates the relationship between theology and science, particularly the life sciences of ecology and evolution and contributes to the University’s strategic sustainability progress as a member of the Water Strategy Working Group.
