Basilica Policies and Request Forms
The Office of Campus Ministry and the Congregation of Holy Cross are committed to maintaining vibrant and reverent liturgies and a prayerful atmosphere at our two central and iconic places of worship on campus: the Basilica of the Sacred Heart and the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes. Concert or Recital Request - Basilica of the Sacred Heart
Please note that the form IS NOT to be used for requesting baptisms, weddings, Mass intentions or funerals in the Basilica. To request a baptism or wedding, email Kate Barrett at email@example.com. To schedule a funeral, email John Zack at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Use of the Grotto Request
Only groups directly affiliated with Congregation of Holy Cross or the University of Notre Dame may reserve the Grotto for a Mass or other prayer service. A request to reserve the Grotto should be made one month in advance. For more information, please email Mary Froning.
Request for Letter of Suitability
Religious and diocesan priests as well as deacons who plan to come from another diocese to celebrate any of the Sacraments at Notre Dame must first submit a letter of suitability to the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend from their bishop or religious superior. The form from a home diocese may be used as well, as long as it covers the same information.
