CM Internship Program

Looking for an opportunity to explore ministry following graduation?
The Campus Ministry Internship program provides an opportunity for recent Notre Dame Graduates to join the Campus ministry team and work side by side with other Campus Ministry staff members. The year –long position provides many opportunities for you to grow personally, spiritually, and professionally. Anyone considering future studies in theology and religious education or discerning a ministerial career in the Church would be an appropriate candidate.
What does an intern do?
As an intern, you will work in a variety of situations designed to provide exposure to the multidimensional work of ministry in a university environment. Your particular interests in ministry help to determine your individual schedule. Possible areas of ministry to explore include sacramental preparation, religious education, retreats, and prayer and liturgy planning.
Interns contribute a wealth of enthusiasm and energy to the Campus Ministry staff. Since you are still close to the mind and heart of the average Notre Dame student, your instincts and perceptions are invaluable when planning programs to meet the needs of the campus community.
Community living constitutes an important aspect of the internship year. Campus Ministry interns live together, sharing meals and common prayer on a regular basis. Campus Ministry staff members along with other campus mentors assist in developing an experience of community that enhances the overall internship program.
Through working with the Campus Ministry staff, your professional formation will encourage the sharing of ministerial ideas and the integration of ministry into your life as a Christian. Open discussion and time for reflection, as well as continuous dialogue about your personal motivations, will all help keep you focused on discerning your “next steps” following the internship year.
