Have fun, worship God

Functioning as a fun and spirit-filled community, Iron Sharpens Iron (or ISI) strives to magnify Jesus Christ through student-led praise and worship, while having a blast!

Christians from many different denominations gather to sharpen their faith through weekly small-group Bible studies and praise services, sports, scheduled retreats and concerts. ISI welcomes anyone on campus seeking sincere Christian fellowship. ISI’s weekly praise service, ISI Worship, takes place on Thursdays at 10:00 pm in 329 Coleman-Morse Center.

ISI Worship features student-musicians in a praise and worship setting, and progresses on to a short talk by a fellow student as well! Following the Thursday night gathering in 329 CoMo, the group usually heads over to Recker’s for food and fellowship as the week comes to an end.

Many times, memories are made on retreats, such as the Fall Retreat to SpringHill Camp 44 in Evart, Michigan, where members did the solo challenge, ziplines, paintball, and horseback riding, all while attending Bible sessions and worshiping the Lord!

Many friendships made in ISI last forever, and the impact from this ministry has been felt for years. The interdenominational spin adds spice and variety as members learn from each others’ interesting faith backgrounds. For some, ISI has been life-changing; the close bonds that members create throughout the year are formed in accountability groups and in a variety of random events, such as…

  • Trip to Chicago to see Switchfoot and Copeland
  • ISI Presents: PW Gopal in Concert
  • Cereal Marathon while watching The Goonies
  • ISI Concession Stands
  • Away Football Game Watches

All events, actions and decisions are prayer-filled and carefully considered. ISI emphasizes a realistic, everyday faith that is applicable for students on college campuses. Come check out ISI and get involved in a constantly-adapting network of young-adult Christians!
