Praise & Worship

Strong, Dynamic Catholic Christianity Community & Fellowship

Take a risk. Sing like no one’s listening. Praise like no one’s watching. Commit your life to following Christ through worship of God and fellowship with your neighbor. Recognize that faith is about discipleship and that prayer must be at the heart of all one does. At Four:7 Catholic Fellowship, you’ll meet fellow disciples on fire for God. We reach out, welcome in, and then send forth, and if you’re looking to grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ and His Body the Church while at Notre Dame, then this is your place!

What is it?

Our name, Four:7, refers to 2 Timothy 4:7 in the Bible, where Paul writes to Timothy saying: I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. St. Paul is our model, and the same challenge to follow Christ in the world is issued to our University community today. Four:7 Catholic Fellowship bridges the gap between faith and everyday life, between Sunday Mass and midweek exams, by reaching out to all students on our campus and offering an encounter with vibrant, authentic, passionate, and inspirational Catholicism. Student-led and student-inspired, wherever you are in your faith, Four:7 Catholic Fellowship is where you belong.

At Four:7 Catholic Fellowship, we begin and end each week by praising the Lord through great spirit-filled music, played by our own student band, Totus Tuus. (If you’ve never tried praise & worship music before or don’t know whether you’ll like it, we encourage you to give it a try! It’s super simple and all the words are provided!) Next, the Four:7 community gives you a dose of encouragement in your faith through engaging speakers from Notre Dame and elsewhere, who every week offer personal reflections on their own Catholic Christian faith. The speakers we invite are the “cream of the crop” from Notre Dame and elsewhere, whether current students or faculty/staff, and what they present is top-notch Christian reflection – solid, relevant to your life, and unabashedly Catholic. Depending on the speaker, question and answer periods, shared prayer, or small group discussions allow time to reflect on the speaker’s message within our faith community. Four times a year, we turn the mike over to Jesus Himself in a very special way, as we host a praise & worship Eucharistic Holy Hour. At every Four:7, the fellowship with other students keeps people coming back, giving you an encounter with Catholic Christians who are welcoming and dedicated to the faith. And while we celebrate all that it means to be a Catholic Christian, we welcome all students who are seeking a sincere relationship with Jesus Christ and with one another.

When is it?

Four:7 Catholic Fellowship meets every Tuesday night from 8:30 – 9:45 p.m. in the Cavanaugh Hall Chapel (just next to the LaFortune Student Center). Many also continue the fellowship and worship by going to Log Chapel Mass at 10:00 p.m. together following Four:7.

What else do you do?

Outside activities include semester retreats, prayer groups, regular service projects, weekly Bible study and Catholic / Christian apologetics groups, and weekend social events. These activities spark community and will help you form relationships founded in faith that grow outward, bringing the Church into the world every day.
