What is Catechist Formation?
Catechist Formation offers students an opportunity to learn about the catechetical ministry and to provide valuable service through teaching religion in local parish programs. Notre Dame students are able to teach or act as teacher assistants on various levels ranging from kindergarten through high school/youth ministry. The intent is not only to provide a valuable resource and service to local parishes, but also to give students a growth-filled experience of teaching and sharing faith with children and young students. We believe that this experience may encourage a future desire to be part of this essential ministry in our Church for years to come. Students who fulfill required elements are able to earn certification through the Diocese of Fort Wayne/South Bend.
