Christ the King Lutheran Church offers Sunday services at 8:15 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Services last about an hour. A 9:30 a.m. contemporary worship service is also offered separately. Dress is casual, although worshipers tend to be more formal for the morning services.

Sunday School classes, adult forums, and adult Bible classes occur at 9:30 a.m. on Sundays from September to May. A Wednesday worship service takes place at 7:00 p.m. during Advent and Lent. 6:30 p.m. Monday service.

Emmaus Lutheran Church offers the Divine Service each Sunday at 9 a.m. throughout the year. The services last about an hour and a half and follow the orders in the Lutheran Service Book. Services are followed with coffee and Bible classes with child care provided.

Additional Services and Activities:
Weekly, vespers is prayed Mondays at 7 p.m., and Evening Prayer is prayed Wednesdays at 7 p.m. A Monday evening Bible Class follows the praying of Vespers each week. Festivals are observed throughout the year with midweek Divine Services (check website calendar for details).

Description:
Emmaus is located just south of downtown off of Miami St, behind St Matthew’s Cathedral. Although a small-medium congregation, membership includes people of all ages, including some students from Notre Dame. The liturgy is characterized by evangelical preaching, the celebration of Holy Communion, appropriate ceremony, and strong hymnody and music. Rides can be arranged upon request.

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church offers a service at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday. Services last about an hour, followed by fellowship. The music for liturgy and hymns varies between contemporary and traditional. Men dress casually or in sport coats and women dress in slacks, dresses, or skirts.

Description:
Our congregation, started in 1955 typically averages between 70 to 90 worshipers. It offers a very welcoming atmosphere where each person can feel a sense of “family-ness” very quickly, reinforced by a time of extended fellowship in our social hall after the service. Our worship is either from the Lutheran Book of Worship or (during the seasons of Epiphany and Pentecost) the 1991 Supplement and its “The Feast and Celebration” service. Music is basically traditional, classical, with some contemporary hymns from the supplement and other sources as well.

Description:
St. Paul Lutheran Church of South Bend celebrated its 125th anniversary as a parish in 2003. While the oldest of the Lutheran congregations in South Bend, it is in one of the newer church homes. Located at Auten and Laurel Roads (near St. Patrick’s County Park) since 1990, St. Paul has, for decades, been the contact congregation for students of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod who are studying at Notre Dame and Saint Mary’s.

Our worship follows the Holy Communion and Minor Services from The Lutheran Hymnal and Hymnal Supplement 98. The music used is generally traditional, with the main instrument used being the rebuilt tracker pipe organ that was dedicated in 1991. On occasion there will be special services that reflect a blend of traditional and contemporary formats.

Sunday Services:
St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church is an Orthodox Byzantine church that holds Orthros at 9:00 a.m. and celebrates the Divine Liturgy at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday. This liturgy lasts for two hours, followed by a reception. Men should wear suits and women should dress formally as well, but not in slacks.

Additional Services and Activities:
Sunday School for children begins after Holy Communion during the Divine Liturgy (around 11:00 – 11:30 a.m.) and lasts until 12:15 p.m. The Sunday School program runs only during the school year. A Paraklesis service is held on Wednesdays at 9:00 a.m. and a Great Vespers service is offered at 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays.

Description:
Sunnyside Presbyterian Church is a congregation of about 600 diverse and active members. On a typical Sunday we have about 250 children, youth and adults who attend our 9:30 a.m. worship service. Sunnyside is best described as a traditional church that is open to creative programming and varied music. Our worship service follows a traditional order but allows for the use of contemporary music and messages. Our Bible Journey’s Sunday School program is organized into five workshops: games/computer, storytelling, drama, arts, and cinema. Children rotate among the classrooms studying the story or concept from the Bible using different methods. Our music program utilizes a beautifully refurbished pipe organ and a grand piano in the sanctuary. The adult Chancel Choir sings each week, using a variety of music styles. Our Handbell Choir performs monthly, as do our two children’s choirs. Sunnyside is active in our community through the Northeast Neighborhood Center, Advocacy Center, Habitat for Humanity, Center for the Homeless, Dismas House, and Hope Rescue Mission.
