The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration MLK Celebration – Anyone interested in being on planning committee for 2008-2009, contact Judy Madden.

Prayer (meditation) and action, Dr. King believed, are inseparable elements of life. The MLK Celebration Planning Committee, led by student leaders, administrators and faculty, carries on the mission to celebrate the beauty of diversity and to ignite the power of the human spirit in pursuit of a just and respectful society.

Chicago has one of the largest Hispanic populations in the country. Join us on this spring-time encounter and learn about Pilsen, the heart of Chicago’s Latino community. Interact with youth from Cristo Rey High School, and experience the work of the Catholic Church among Latino immigrants.

Looking for an alternate Spring Break experience? Join Campus Ministry and the Center for Social Concerns as they travel to Nuestra SeƱora de Soledad parsh in Coachella, California. At this experimental learning seminar, you will live with families, learn about small Christian comminities, interact with youth, and see Hispanic ministry at its best. One theology credit is earned upon completion of the seminar and a brief final paper.
